Inspired Interiors 4: Autumn Snug | Tiger Sheds

Welcome to the fourth episode of Inspired Interiors. If you’re new to the series then basically we take a Tiger Sheds building and decorate it with a stunning interior decor scheme! This month we hope to inspire you by transforming a Tiger Corbetti Log Cabin into an Autumn Snug.

The chosen product that we will decorate this month is The Corbetti Log Cabin. 

Why we chose this product. For Autumn Snug we've transformed a Tiger Log Cabin instead of a Tiger Shed as we feel there's something really autumnal and authentic about a wooden log cabin. Plus, the thicker cladding will keep you warmer during a chilly evening and it should be interesting to see how a log cabin can be transformed too. For this design we've transformed a 12x10 Tiger Corbetti Log Cabin as we love the contemporary style and the spacious interior. This building offers the perfect amount of space for this look - there's plenty of room for accessories and furniture, but not too much space that it loses that 'cosy' feeling. Mood board for this month’s Interior Decor Scheme. 

Brief description: The idea of this scheme is to create a room which is snug, cosy and relaxing. Somewhere to lounge, enjoy a book and embrace the cool weather. For Autumn Snug we've used a beautiful range of oranges, reds and yellows to replicate the colours of the leaves changing. We've also used a range of dark browns, greys and blacks to balance out the brighter colours.

How Autumn Snug is designed to please all the sense:

Visual

For the interior of Autumn Snug we've brought in rich autumnal shades through the use of accessories and furniture - orange throw cushions, a knitted footstool and the patchwork blanket. We've then added in a trendy plaid couch in grey and black and a rustic wooden table to compliment the brighter colours. We were inspired to include the knitted footstool after speaking with Designer-lebrity, Jennifer Wagner Schmidt, about bold statements for this Autumn. She says, 'Bold Textures are big this Autumn and are easy to incorporate in your own home.  Adding something like a faux fur rug, a chunky knit throw, or a soft Moroccan wedding blanket to your sofa or chair is a fun yet functional way to add texture and layering to a space.' To create a serene and calm mood we've also added in some electrical candles and a fire, along with the LED Willow Tree. Anna Shiwlall, Owner of 27 Diamonds Interior Design, says 'Autumn is a good time to pull out all of the warm tones (orange, brown or red) in accessories, pillows, blankets, and rugs. You don't have to do any major expensive changes. Just simply adding accessories to the shelves or swapping some out with warm tones can really get you in the mood for fall.' Then for the exterior we painted it in Summer Damson and the trims are painted in a fresh Pale Jasmine both by Cuprinol.

Touch

We want everything that you sit on or snuggle up to in Autumn Snug to make you feel instantly at ease. So we've added in a beautiful sofa with enough room for two, filled with soft throw cushions and the option to cosy up inside the blanket. All accessories and furniture are soft, comfy and snugly - perfect for Autumn Snug! Owner and Interior Designer for Heffler Intuitive Design discussed with us the importance of not only everything looking visually great but also feeling and smelling fantastic too. 'My approach is beyond just aesthetic appeal, by incorporating function and renewed energy as well. Spaces must evoke a sense of comfort and wellness, in order to provide a pleasing environment. Colors, fabrics, the placement of furniture, fragrances and sounds are part of the the overall concept.'

Smell

Scented candles would be a great idea for this interior design - cinnamon and pumpkin smells would work perfectly! Charmaine Wynter, CEO of Wynter Interiors Inc, says 'Homeowners often forget the role fragrances play in our enjoyment of room. I always embrace scents in my interior design projects; a few of my fall additions are: cloves, cinnamon, apple cider scented candles and or cedar scented logs or mesquite wood chips placed in the fireplace.'

Taste

You could use this autumnal space as the ideal place to enjoy a good bowl of stew and dumplings, or for the kids you could all enjoy some toffee apples in front of the fire!

Sound

Release your daily stresses inside the Autumn Snug by reading a good book and listening to the calming sound of the leaves rustling outside and the trees blowing in the wind. With the heat coming out of the electric fire you will feel cosy and warm inside the snug!
