Modern Summerhouses for Small, Average & Large Garden Spaces | Tiger Sheds
Gardens are an important part of our home, providing us with somewhere special to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the world outside. Although you might think summerhouses are only useful in warm weather, they’re a fantastic way to make better use of your garden all year round.
If you’re excited by the thought of a traditional garden summerhouse, or if you’re considering the addition of a home office or personal gym, a relaxing or wellbeing space, a wooden summerhouse is a fantastic way to add some real character and value to your property.
There is a huge range of summerhouses for you to explore on the market today. Are you looking for a traditional or contemporary design, a corner summerhouse or octagonal summerhouse, single or double-door access? Or do you need something unique to suit your space and needs?
Tiger’s expertise means that we can also offer a bespoke design and build service, if you need a special size or features. The design can be tailormade, simply let us know what you need and we’ll turn your vision into a reality. Our customisable summerhouse options give you the flexibility to scale up or down depending on your garden space and place the windows and doors exactly where you need them. As we mill the timber ourselves in our Yorkshire sawmill, we can be much more flexible than the competition – and much more competitively priced too!
Plan your Perfect Summerhouse
First things first, you will need to make sure that the location is perfect. If there’s an area in your garden that is unused or neglected and could be filled with a summerhouse then this is a good place to start. Other considerations… do you want your summerhouse in direct sunlight or more shaded? Once it’s built it is staying put so make sure you find the perfect spot.
Once the perfect place has been found, you will then need to consider:
- The footprint of your summerhouse
- Building design and finish including roof style (a sloped roof such as an apex or pent roof is better for water drainage)
- Will you need an electricity source or plumbing?
- Security requirements
Now that we’ve got the essential stuff out of the way, we’ve handpicked some of our favourite summerhouses for you to see, catering to a wide variety of gardens, needs and budgets, to point you in the direction of the perfect summerhouse for you and your garden.
Summerhouses for Small Spaces
Gardens are becoming smaller so modern homeowners are trying to make the most of the limited space that they have.
Just because space comes at a premium in your garden, it doesn’t mean you don’t have enough flexibility of space for a garden room. Rather than settling for any old shed, why not upgrade to something you can store tools and toys in over winter but also open and enjoy during the summer?
The Tiger Summer Shed is one of these spaces, with large windows and tall Apex roof it perfectly doubles up as a storage come relaxing space. The additional windows make the most of the summer sunshine and a clever roof overhang that provides somewhere to sit and enjoy the view with family and friends without taking up any more precious room in your garden.
Available in an extensive range of sizes, finishes and customisations, the Tiger Summer Shed is a great choice as a first summerhouse, especially if you’re buying on a budget.

Summerhouses for Large Gardens
Over the last few years, summerhouses have become increasingly popular as a means of gaining more space at home. As working from home is now the norm for so many people, using a summerhouse as an office is a fantastic way of maintaining productivity, avoiding distraction, and separating your work life from your home life.
But summerhouses aren’t just about work. We see more and more of our customers utilising their garden rooms as garden bars, spas, gyms, playrooms, cinemas, workshops and so much more!
Here are a few of our most popular summerhouses to inspire your imagination…

Easily assembled with our own interlocking system, we particularly love how the Apex roof makes a feature of the timber frame inside the interior, instantly creating the atmosphere of a luxurious chalet in the Alps without ever having to leave the garden.
Here’s what our customer Roger has to say about The Gamma
“We have been very impressed with both the timber and machining quality of all components and the accuracy with which it all fits together. We would recommend Tiger Sheds without hesitation.”
Here at Tiger, we pride ourselves on using only the highest grade, slow-grown and sustainably sourced European timber in our summerhouses, cut to order in our very own Yorkshire saw mill.
Whichever design has caught your eye, the first thing to do is make sure it’s right for your garden. You’ll need at least one metre clear around the whole summerhouse for ease of access during assembly and maintenance. It’s also a good idea to check the planning regulations for your area, as we’d hate for you to be caught out.
Once all that’s done, we’ll deliver your summerhouse for free and include our famous 20-year guarantee as well. Thanks to TigerSkin®, our own special preservative formula, you can keep your summerhouse in top condition so it can be enjoyed by family and friends for many years to come.
