With a huge range of uses, the modern garden shed is an excellent addition to your garden or outdoor space. From outdoor offices to bike storage spaces, wendy houses to log cabins, today’s garden sheds are spacious, tough and long-lasting, perfect for enjoying spare time outside and for storing your tools and equipment.
'Garden shed' is a broad term to describe any small building that is separate to your home, and sits in your garden or yard. It can be wood, plastic or metal, with a pent or apex roof. Pent roofs have one slope, letting the water run off one end, while apex roofs have two slopes that meet in the middle. Some large garden sheds have windows built in, while many feature double doors for easy access to the tools and bikes inside.
Modern garden sheds come in all shapes and sizes for a range of different uses. For example, the garden office makes a great place to work undisturbed by the noise of home, while the log cabin is a superb venue to host summer parties or to get you friends over for a cozy and wintry night in. Meanwhile, other sheds have an altogether more practical purposes, acting as storage spaces for your bikes, wheelie bins, gardening equipment and more, or providing a place for DIY projects and crafty hobbies, such as carpentry.
One of the best things about having a large or small garden shed is that it allows you to have space set aside for relaxing, enjoying your past-times or getting on with your work, depending on what you want to use it for. The variety of types available to you, an example being a corner garden shed, means that you can tailor, decorate and equip your shed however you’d like, creating your own space for you and your family to enjoy. Another advantage is that storage sheds free up valuable room in your home for other furniture and possessions that would otherwise be taken by tools, bikes, or wheelie bins, for example.

Tiger buildings are constructed with shiplap cladding, which is superior tongue & groove timber board with a flush-fit finish. Each solid plank is 12mm thick with scalloping to help prevent water ingress. A smooth, solid, strong barrier pre-treated to meet our high quality standards.
All Tiger sheds are made with tongue & groove timber boards throughout – no cheap and crumbly OSB board at all (unlike some companies we could mention). Our timber is sustainably sourced. We use slow grown European softwood, cut in our woodmill to a high grade.
Tiger garden buildings come with TigerFelt® as standard. This is a thicker, polyester-backed high-grade mineral felt to provide a reliable, weatherproof barrier with reduced wear and tear. Only premium quality roofing felt will do!
We use slow-grown timber in our framing to provide the sturdy support your shed needs. Sustainably sourced, it’s over an inch thick, and rounded for a smoother finish. Slow-grown timber is better quality, and the heavyweight 28x44mm thickness will help the building stand the test of time.
All Tiger buildings come with solid, coated steel fittings for a secure, elegant finish for your peace of mind. Unlike many competitors, all Tiger buildings come with a free door pull as standard.
Beware of imitations which use cheaper styrene plastic windows (which tend to ‘mist’ over time). All Tiger windowed sheds & summerhouse come with 3mm thick toughened glass as standard. This glazing is more shock and heat resistant than normal shed windows, making your Tiger all the more durable. TigerFlex® models also arrive with the glass pre-fitted, making assembly even easier!
We treat our timber with TigerSkin, a specially formulated preservative, developed over many years – for a non-greasy weatherproof seal. This pre-treatment applied to the wood and then carefully dried to give your shed an extra layer of protection 365 days a year.
Your Tiger garden building is simple to put together, using the helpful instructions available, and will look great on a firm & level base constructed from a suitably durable material. We also offer an installation service for all Tiger log cabins.
All Tiger buildings are made to exactly the same high standards, with exactly the same quality timber – so they get exactly the same market-leading Tiger 20 Year Guarantee. Tigers are built to last for decades with.

Why our garden sheds are the best value that can be found online:
Our garden sheds generally last for 25 years plus, so please check/compare the following vital specifications when comparing our garden sheds to those from lower grade competitor companies as the following specifications are vital.
Shed Cladding: Our shiplap tongue and groove sheds are provided with 12mm thick cladding (this is the FINISHED SIZE!). Our overlap sheds are made from 9mm thich cladding - this is far thicker than most competitor buildings. Please make sure you look at the cladding thickness when comparing sheds. Also ensure you ask for the finish size - many competitors try to fool you by providing the size of the timber before it has been cut down.
Shed Framing Thickness: All of our sheds come as standard with at least 44x28mm thick framing - this is twice as thick as most competitor buildings. Framing is the backbone of the building and provides the strength / structural integrity. It is vital that you do not buy a garden shed that comes with matchstick thin framework.
Framing Quality: The framing we provide is always rounded four corner framing. DO NOT go for rough cut framing which approx 90% of competitors provide - rough cut framing is very prone to warping, splitting and giving out splinters. Ensure you check what the framing is made from when buying a shed.
Roof and Floor: THIS IS ESSENTIAL - our garden sheds come with fully boarded roof and floors - DO NOT go for garden sheds with chipboard or OSB roof or floors. The floor will be much more likely to rot and the roof will be much more prone to sagging in the centre with these types of roof/floor.
Timber quality: our timber is high grade European softwood. Most competitors use lower grade Baltic timber which is prone to warping and splitting.
Height: I am quite sure our roof height will be higher than in any other building you may buy - you will have to stoop in another shed. Pay particular interest to our high eaves height - many companies have sheds where the eaves height is even lower than the height of the door!
Pre Hung doors: Our doors are pre hung to make the assembly of your garden building very easy. You will most likely have to hang the door yourself if you go elsewhere.
