Virtually flat free and low in calories, kale is an excellent source of nutrients and vitamins and a great choice for those wanting to enjoy a healthy balanced diet. This year, we want to explore pairing kale with leeks – a simple – but delicious – complement.

A great source of vitamin C, leeks are an easy way to enjoy one of your five a day – with around half a large leek (80g) counting as one portion. A source of the B vitamin folate, leeks can aid the production of red blood cells, and help to maintain a healthy immune system.
